Raptors Upgrade Barrett, Murray-Boyles to Questionable Against Blazers
In an update from the Toronto Raptors, RJ Barrett and rookie Collin Murray-Boyles are now considered questionable for the upcoming game against the Portland Trail Blazers. This announcement came on a Thursday, ahead of Friday’s matchup.
Injury Reports for the Raptors
RJ Barrett has been sidelined for the last seven games due to a left ankle sprain sustained against the Boston Celtics on January 9. During this time, he has been actively participating in practices and shootarounds. Barrett has shown impressive performance this season, averaging 19.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while maintaining a shooting percentage of 49.6 from the field and 35.5 from three-point range.
Collin Murray-Boyles missed the previous two games because of a left thumb contusion he acquired during a match against the Los Angeles Lakers. Alongside the contusion, he has also been diagnosed with a sprained thumb. Despite this setback, the rookie forward has emerged as a vital contributor for the Raptors with many players injured. This season, he averages 7.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists through 37 games.
Additional Players Impacted
Meanwhile, Ja’Kobe Walter and Jakob Poeltl have been ruled out for the upcoming contest. Poeltl, who hasn’t played since December 21, was attending a specialist appointment in Toronto for his back injury.
Current Standing of the Raptors
The Toronto Raptors currently hold a record of 27-19, positioning themselves fourth in the Eastern Conference. They are trailing by seven games behind the first-place Detroit Pistons. The team’s injuries have presented challenges, but the potential return of Barrett and Murray-Boyles could provide a much-needed boost against the Trail Blazers.
