Line 1 Subway Service Halted Between College and Osgoode
Subway service on Line 1 has been reinstated following a brief disruption caused by an incident on the tracks. The initial service halt occurred between College and Osgoode stations and was later adjusted to just between King and Osgoode stations. Service resumed around 10:30 a.m.
Details of the Incident
The exact location of the incident remains unspecified. During the service interruption, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) recommended alternate transportation options for commuters traveling from the University area to the Yonge side of Line 1/Yonge-University.
Alternative Transportation
- Riders were advised to use streetcar routes.
- Notably, the 509 Harbourfront and 510 Spadina services were suspended at Union Station.
This suspension was attributed to an injury at track level at Union Station, which prompted a response from transit officials. The Toronto police also issued a statement via X regarding the situation, noting that northbound trains were halted at Union Station due to a police investigation. Fortunately, it was later determined that the investigation was non-criminal in nature.
Resumption of Service
As of now, service has fully restarted at Union Station. However, it remains unclear if the earlier train interruptions were related to the police inquiry. The TTC continues to serve riders with a comprehensive transit network.
