Blue Line Weekend Service Extended to Orient Heights Amid Cold Snap
The Blue Line weekend service will be extended to Orient Heights as the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) conducts essential tunnel inspections. This extension comes just as a cold snap hits the area.
Service Details and Inspection Schedule
According to MBTA officials, the inspection will take place between Bowdoin and Orient Heights stations. Ryan Coholan, the agency’s chief operating officer, indicated that they do not foresee any changes or cancellations due to weather conditions.

During the Blue Line closure, the MBTA will provide free shuttle buses. These buses will stop at the following stations:

In addition, the East Boston Ferry will operate free of charge on the weekend. Its schedule is as follows:
