Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Release Set for March 26
Nintendo has announced an exciting new release for its Switch 2 console: Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Set to launch on March 26, this upgraded version introduces several fresh features while enhancing the classic gameplay experience.
New Features and Gameplay
One of the biggest draws of Super Mario Bros. Wonder on the Switch 2 is its expanded multiplayer capabilities. The new edition features a variety of co-op and multiplayer modes, including:
- Multiplayer competition to collect coins in Bellabel Park.
- 17 co-op and versus modes for local multiplayer.
- Game Room Plaza for local and online play with six minigames.
For local gameplay, up to eight players can join using wireless connections, while online multiplayer supports up to 12 players.
Bellabel Park Overview
Bellabel Park is a new area within the Flower Kingdom that adds to the exploration and fun. Players can engage in challenges at the Toad Brigade Training Camp, either solo or with up to three friends. Interestingly, only one Switch 2 is needed for group play.
Gameplay Enhancements
The new version also introduces several gameplay improvements. Players can now battle against all seven Koopalings and experience playing as Rosalina for the first time. A unique feature allows a second player to control a Luma, which can assist in defeating enemies and gathering coins, using the Switch 2’s mouse control feature.
An assist mode is also available to help players recover quickly from falls and avoid damage, making the game more accessible.
New Amiibo and Talking Flower Release
Alongside the game release, Nintendo will offer three new amiibo on March 26: Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and Captain Toad & Talking Flower. Additionally, a physical version of the Talking Flower will go on sale on March 12. This interactive device talks at scheduled intervals, providing updates on room temperature and time, and can play music as well.
Pre-orders for the Talking Flower are now available, with sales occurring at Nintendo’s New York and San Francisco stores, among other retailers.
Upgrade Options for Existing Players
Players who already own the original version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder will have the opportunity to purchase an upgrade pack for $20, allowing them to transition to the new features of the Switch 2 edition.
Mark your calendars for March 26, as Super Mario Bros. Wonder on the Switch 2 promises a vibrant and engaging experience for both new and returning players!
