New Category: Best Casting
This year marks the introduction of best casting, the first new category since best animated feature was added in 2002. A shortlist of 10 films for this category was revealed last month. The final nominees will be selected by members of the casting directors branch based on presentations of shortlisted contenders.
Voting Changes for Academy Members
- Academy members must now view all nominees in a category to vote.
- Viewing is tracked through the Academy Screening Room app.
