Matthew Stafford Earns 2025 PFWA MVP Honors
Matthew Stafford, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams, has been honored as the Pro Football Writers of America’s Most Valuable Player for the 2025 season. This recognition reflects his exceptional performance throughout the year.
Exceptional Season Performance
Stafford led the NFL with impressive statistics, including:
- Passing yards: 4,707
- Passing touchdowns: 46
- Interceptions: 8
Under his leadership, the Rams achieved a solid 12-5 record in the regular season. His performance also placed him second in passer rating at 109.2 and first in first downs with a total of 236.
Record-Breaking Achievements
This season, Stafford made history by becoming the first quarterback to throw for four or more touchdowns without any interceptions in three consecutive games from Weeks 7 to 10. He set another milestone in Week 13 by surpassing Tom Brady’s longstanding record for the most consecutive touchdown passes without an interception, achieving 28.
Acknowledgments and Awards
For his outstanding contributions, Stafford was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month in both November and December/January. Additionally, he earned the NFC Offensive Player of the Week honor for Week 18.
