Lululemon Halts Get Low Line Online Sales Due to Customer Feedback

Lululemon Athletica Inc. has suspended online sales of its new workout line, the Get Low collection, following customer feedback. The Vancouver-based retailer responded to complaints regarding the line’s fit and sheerness.

Lululemon’s Get Low Collection Halted

On Tuesday, Lululemon announced that sales of the Get Low collection—including leggings, tights, and tank tops—will be paused on its website. The decision aims to better understand initial customer feedback and improve product education. Meanwhile, the collection remains available in North American stores and online internationally.

Concerns from Customers

Customer complaints have emerged regarding the fit and transparency of the Get Low products. Many users on social media reported that leggings in the collection provided insufficient compression, leading to issues such as visibility of undergarments and tattoos. These complaints surfaced shortly after the collection was launched a few weeks ago.

  • Customers claimed the sizing runs large.
  • Reports indicated some items were nearly see-through.

BNP Paribas Equity Research analyst Laurent Vasilescu noted an increase in complaints regarding the collection since its debut. He emphasized that customers have been vocal about their dissatisfaction with the product’s fit and fabric.

Background of Get Low’s Development

The Get Low collection was designed to provide a sculpted look for wearers while being lightweight and fast-drying. This approach was intended to appeal to those engaged in training and other athletic activities. However, initial reception has challenged these design intentions.

Historical Issues with Product Lines

This setback is not Lululemon’s first experience with product-related issues. In 2024, the company paused sales of its Breezethrough line due to customer dissatisfaction with a particular design. In 2013, Lululemon also recalled its popular black Luon pants for being too sheer.

Leadership Changes and Future Directions

Lululemon is currently undergoing a transition in leadership, as CEO Calvin McDonald is set to leave at the end of this month. As the company seeks a new chief executive, Chip Wilson, the brand’s founder, has suggested three executives for board consideration. In the interim, the company has appointed its chief financial and commercial officers as co-CEOs.

As Lululemon navigates these challenges, industry experts suggest that revitalizing the product mix will be vital for attracting customers who are turning to competitors such as Alo, Vuori, and Nike.
