Probe Unveils Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s Office Booze Stash and Strip Club Visit

Recent allegations against Lori Chavez-DeRemer, the Secretary of Labor, have raised eyebrows regarding her conduct while in office. According to reports, she maintained a stash of alcoholic beverages in her Washington D.C. office and allegedly used an official trip for personal entertainment, including a visit to a strip club.

Strip Club Visit During Official Trip

Chavez-DeRemer, 57, reportedly took staff members to Angels PDX, a strip club located outside Portland, during an official business trip to Oregon. This trip was primarily intended to meet with Democratic Governor Tina Kotek. Travel documentation indicates that the trip cost taxpayers nearly $3,000, which included:

  • Transportation: $1,324.21
  • Lodging: $722
  • Meals: $655
  • Miscellaneous Expenses: $188.35

Internal Probe and Allegations

Chavez-DeRemer is reportedly facing an internal investigation over accusations of misusing her position. Allegations include:

  • Drinking on the job.
  • Engaging in a relationship with a subordinate.
  • Tasking staff with creating false business trips for personal visits.

The investigation has included interviews with at least a dozen government officials. Notably, her chief of staff, Jihun Han, and deputy, Rebecca Wright, are under scrutiny for their potential involvement in these matters. Both have been placed on leave alongside another yet-to-be-identified staff member.

A Controversial Birthday Celebration

In April 2025, Chavez-DeRemer drew controversy for hosting an extravagant birthday party at her office, amidst significant budget cuts being enacted under Elon Musk’s DOGE initiative. Many staffers viewed the celebration as inappropriate during such challenging times.

Responses from Officials

Chavez-DeRemer’s attorney, Dr. Nick Oberheiden, expressed concerns over the leaks from within the Department of Labor. He stated, “Secretary Chavez-DeRemer is tirelessly traveling the country to promote President Trump’s economic agenda.”

A spokesperson for the Labor Department emphasized that they would not comment on internal or personnel matters and affirmed the Secretary’s commitment to supporting American workers.

The allegations remain under investigation, while the Department and Chavez-DeRemer have yet to provide detailed comments regarding the ongoing inquiries.
