Dianne M. Donelson, an esteemed educator from West Seneca, NY, passed away on December 25, 2025, at the age of 81. Surrounded by her family, she spent her final moments at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House. Dianne was born on November 8, 1944, in Jamestown, NY, to the late Rev. F. Eugene and Marie (Paulsen) Donelson.

Dianne M. Donelson: A Life of Education and Service

A proud graduate of Youngsville High School, Dianne finished her studies in 1962. She then attended Houghton College, earning a degree in elementary education. Her career in teaching spanned 35 years, primarily as a third-grade instructor at Elma Primary within the Iroquois School District.

Even after retiring, Dianne’s passion for teaching never waned. She offered tutoring sessions through Literacy Volunteers, helping many students beyond her formal career.

Interests and Hobbies

Dianne led a vibrant life full of hobbies and interests. In her youth, she enjoyed:

  • Roller skating
  • Traveling abroad
  • Playing piano
  • Singing in The Chapel choir

After establishing her home in West Seneca, she took pleasure in summer walks around her neighborhood. Dianne cultivated beautiful flower gardens and cherished her interactions with neighbors. Family time was paramount, particularly during gatherings with her cousins. Her love for photography and enthusiasm for the Buffalo Bills also defined her personal life.

Legacy and Survivors

Dianne devoted herself to her faith and actively supported missions centered on leading others to Christ. She is survived by her niece, Julie Eckstrom, along with her great niece, Mailee Eckstrom, and great nephew, Peer Eckstrom. Her brother-in-law, Winston Wolfe, also survives her. Dianne was preceded in death by her sister, Jean M. Wolfe.

Memorial Service Details

A memorial service for Dianne will take place on January 22, 2026, at 1 PM. The event will be held at Revive Wesleyan/McKinley Campus in Hamburg, NY.
