Nylander Sidelined with Lower-Body Injury: Maple Leafs vs. Jets Update

Florida Panthers forwards Matthew Tkachuk and Brad Marchand are on the mend from injuries, according to coach Paul Maurice. However, both players missed the game against the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

Injury Updates on Tkachuk and Marchand

Tkachuk is recovering from surgery performed on August 22. The procedure addressed a torn adductor muscle and a sports hernia. He participated in practice with the team’s extra players prior to the Capitals game.

Coach Maurice noted Tkachuk’s positive response to recent workouts, stating, “He’s close. He’s getting pushed hard on the ice. He’s coming back. The recovery has been good.” Although Tkachuk is not yet at full strength, he has shown significant improvement. Maurice expressed optimism, suggesting that “he’s not very far away now.”

In a similar situation, Marchand missed his fifth consecutive game due to an unspecified injury. While he did not join Tkachuk on the ice during practice, Maurice stated that Marchand is also nearing a return, saying, “I would say [he is] fairly close, too.”

Upcoming Schedule

Following a challenging period of six straight road games, the Panthers will host the San Jose Sharks. That game is scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on SCRIPPS and NBCSCA.

  • Matthew Tkachuk: Recovering from surgery (August 22).
  • Brad Marchand: Missed five games due to injury.
  • Next Game: vs. San Jose Sharks, Monday at 6 p.m. ET.

As both players continue to improve, fans eagerly await their return to the ice. Their presence will be crucial as the Panthers look to strengthen their roster moving forward.
