Silas Demary Jr. was honored as the Player of the Week, while Braylon Mullins secured his second Freshman of the Week title. This achievement marks the first time the Huskies have captured both honors since December 23, 2024.

Demary Jr. Shines in Big Week

  • Third-most assists in a game for UConn
  • Second 20-point, 15-assist double-double in BIG EAST history
  • Third in NCAA history for the 20-15-5 statistical line

Demary Jr. scored the crucial game-sealing bucket with just 10.4 seconds remaining. He also contributed significantly in the game against DePaul on January 10, scoring 14 points and tallying four assists and three steals in a 72-60 win. In his first six BIG EAST games, he has averaged 11.8 points and leads the league with 8.0 assists per game.

Mullins’ Impact on the Court

Braylon Mullins has also made headlines with his impressive performances. He achieved a career-high of 24 points in the game against Providence, shooting 8-of-14 from the field. Mullins hit a personal best of six three-pointers during that game and contributed eight points during a critical stretch in overtime, helping the Huskies secure their seventh consecutive victory over the Friars.

During their recent matchup against DePaul, Mullins led all players with 16 points and achieved a career-high with seven rebounds. His shooting statistics for that game included:

  • 5-of-10 from the field
  • 2-of-5 from three-point range
  • 4-for-4 at the free-throw line

This season in BIG EAST play, Mullins averages 14.0 points, accompanied by 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. He was previously named the BIG EAST Preseason Freshman of the Year and received the league’s weekly honor on December 2.
