José Gaudet to Succeed Guy Jodoin in ‘Le Tricheur’
José Gaudet has been named the new host of ‘Le Tricheur,’ succeeding Guy Jodoin beginning this fall. The announcement was made during the cultural magazine show ‘Sucré Givré,’ hosted by Jean-Philippe Dion, who also produces ‘Le Tricheur.’ Jodoin, who has anchored the quiz show since its inception in 2012, revealed last August that this season would be his last.
Changes in ‘Le Tricheur’
Guy Jodoin expressed disappointment about leaving his role in an interview with La Presse last October. His final episode is set to be filmed in mid-February, but viewers can expect to see him continue on the show until spring, thanks to the filming schedule being several months ahead of the broadcast.
José Gaudet’s Return to TVA
This opportunity marks a significant return for José Gaudet to TVA, following his departure from the talk show ‘Ça finit bien la semaine’ in 2022. He co-hosted the show alongside Julie Bélanger for nine successful seasons. In addition to his television work, Gaudet has been a regular contributor to ‘Véronique et les fantastiques’ on the Rouge network since late summer.
Popularity of ‘Le Tricheur’
‘Le Tricheur’ continues to attract a large audience, remaining one of the most-watched weekday shows even after 15 seasons. On certain evenings, the quiz show draws over 700,000 viewers. This audience surpasses the ratings of many prime-time series.
