Villanova Lacrosse Unveils New Cinema Experience

Villanova University has officially opened the Villanova Lacrosse Cinema. This innovative facility was introduced on a Friday, providing an enhanced experience for the Wildcat lacrosse programs. The renovation was generously funded by the Gary M. and Patricia B. Holloway Family Foundation, complemented by contributions from alumni and parents of both men’s and women’s lacrosse teams.

Overview of the New Lacrosse Cinema

The Villanova Lacrosse Cinema is situated on the second floor of the press box at Villanova Stadium. This modern space serves as a vital meeting point for both lacrosse teams.

Features of the Cinema

  • A 50-seat cinema equipped with a large-screen television for video analysis.
  • A dedicated conference room for team meetings.
  • A lounge area designed for families and recruits.

Women’s lacrosse head coach Jill Batcheller expressed gratitude for the facility, emphasizing its role in student-athlete development. She stated, “The new film cinema is an investment in our student-athletes and their growth on and off the field.” This resource offers essential tools for teaching and learning, underscoring the community’s commitment to the teams’ future.

Coaches’ Perspectives

Men’s lacrosse head coach Mike Corrado also commented on the new space. He noted that the cinema offers a state-of-the-art film room and additional meeting space. These upgrades will facilitate both individual film reviews and gatherings with alumni and recruits.
