Culture Platform “kklick” Expands Beyond Borders

In a significant development for cultural education, the Culture Platform “kklick” is set to expand its reach beyond national borders. For over a decade, “kklick – Kulturvermittlung Ostschweiz” has served as a central hub for cultural projects aimed at schools. This platform facilitates easy access for teachers to cultural offerings, reinforcing connections between educational institutions and culture organizations.

Expansion into Liechtenstein

Starting in 2026, institutions in Liechtenstein will join the “kklick” network. This partnership allows cultural organizations in Liechtenstein to showcase their projects. Simultaneously, schools there will gain access to offerings from Eastern Switzerland.

Enhancing Cultural Access

This collaboration builds on existing ties between the Canton of St. Gallen and Liechtenstein. One notable initiative is the “Freifahrt Kultur” program, launching in summer 2024. Under this program, school classes from St. Gallen will have free transportation to cultural sites twice a year.

  • Free transportation via public transit for schools.
  • Direct booking of transportation and cultural offers through “kklick.”

Support from Regional Authorities

The expansion has garnered support from the authorities in Appenzell Ausserrhoden, St. Gallen, and Thurgau. They view this cooperation as a valuable enhancement to cultural education in the region.

Management and Operations

The project is managed by the three cantons under a mandate currently executed by Wirkpunkt GmbH. Kati Michalk and Richi Küttel oversee operations from two main offices: Appenzell Ausserrhoden–St. Gallen and Thurgau. In 2026, Liechtenstein will connect with the Appenzell Ausserrhoden–St. Gallen office, integrating fully into the established structure.
