City Unveils Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Schedule for Services
The City of San Antonio has announced its holiday schedule for services in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 19, 2026. Most city offices will close, but essential public safety services will remain operational.

Operational Services on January 19
- Public Safety: Police and Fire departments will maintain regular operations.
- Emergency Medical Services: EMS personnel will be available.
- 3-1-1 Call Center: Operational from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and for urgent matters from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Animal Care Officers: Will be on duty for urgent animal concerns.
- Code Enforcement: Officers will be available for inspections and emergency coverage.
Parks and Parking
City parks and trails will remain open for public use. There will be a parking meter holiday downtown, but this does not apply to City-operated garages and lots.
Waste Collection and Facility Closures
