Etienne, 42, did not initially envision a future in agriculture. Although he grew up on the family farm, his dream was to become an electrician. He only stepped into farming in 2015 when he reclaimed the family business. His brother Fabien, 27, has a different perspective, having always been drawn to farm life.
Career Changes Due to Health
During a discussion with host Karine Le Marchand, Etienne revealed a significant reason for his late career switch. He disclosed that he suffers from color blindness, which complicates his attempts to pursue an electrician career. “I am colorblind; it’s a bit tricky. In any case, I needed animals around me,” he explained.
Color blindness affects individuals’ ability to distinguish certain colors, often hindering their choices in many fields, including electrical work. In contrast, Fabien has never wavered in his commitment to farming, stating, “It was obvious. Since I was a kid, I have always been 100% at the farm.”
A Flourishing Dairy Business
Now, both brothers run the family dairy farm successfully. They produce approximately 750,000 liters of milk annually and manage 145 hectares of land, housing over 100 cows.

Besides their farming responsibilities, both brothers are seeking romantic partners. Fabien took the initiative to apply to the show, hoping to avoid the loneliness he fears for his brother. “Etienne has always dreamed of having a family. I don’t want to find myself in the same situation in the future,” Fabien expressed emotionally.
