Thor Actor Cast as Kratos in God of War Live-Action Series
Amazon Prime’s highly anticipated live-action series, God of War, is moving forward in pre-production with a confirmed lead actor for the role of Kratos. Ryan Hurst has been cast as the titular character.

Ryan Hurst is no stranger to video game adaptations. He previously voiced the popular character Thor in 2022’s God of War Ragnarök, a performance that garnered a BAFTA nomination. Hurst is widely recognized for his role as Opie Winston in FX’s Sons of Anarchy. He also recently appeared in the Netflix series, The Abandons.
Storyline Overview
The God of War series will adapt the Norse mythological entries of the franchise, encompassing Ragnarök and its 2018 predecessor, God of War. The narrative focuses on Kratos and his son, Atreus, as they embark on a poignant quest to scatter the ashes of their wife and mother.
