SpaceX Crew-11 by NASA Prepares for Upcoming Splashdown

A significant event is unfolding as NASA prepares for the upcoming splashdown of the Crew-11 mission. Astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, along with JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Platonov, are set to return to Earth aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.

Preparation for Splashdown

The deorbit burn is scheduled for 2:51 a.m. EST. The splashdown is expected to occur around 3:41 a.m. This operation is being closely monitored, with favorable weather reported at the primary splashdown site off the coast of San Diego, California.

Reasons for Early Return

On January 8, NASA made the decision to return Crew-11 earlier than planned. This adjustment was due to a medical concern regarding a crew member aboard the International Space Station. Fortunately, that crew member is currently stable.
