NVIDIA Unveils DLSS 4.5 with Enhanced Features for All Users
NVIDIA has announced the official rollout of its DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution technology, now accessible to all users of the NVIDIA App. This update brings improved features aimed at enhancing image fidelity and performance for gamers.
NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Features
During CES, NVIDIA unveiled DLSS 4.5, which includes significant updates:
- Increased Image Fidelity: Utilizes the advanced 2nd Gen Transformer model.
- Multi-frame Generation (MFG): Supports up to 6x performance enhancement.
The 2nd Gen Transformer model is notably more demanding, operating five times more compute-intensive than its predecessor, and is compatible with all RTX series GPUs, including RTX 20, 30, 40, and newly introduced 50 series.
Compatibility and Performance
NVIDIA’s DLSS 4.5 is expected to be supported by over 400 games and applications, allowing users to maximize image quality across both new and older titles. The performance is best on RTX 40 and 50 series GPUs that feature upgraded Tensor Cores and FP4 support. Although older GPUs can benefit from DLSS 4.5, they will experience a notable impact on performance compared to newer architectures.
NVIDIA App Updates
The NVIDIA App has also seen significant enhancements in version 11.0.6:
- Integration of NVIDIA Surround settings from the Control Panel, including bezel correction and hotkeys.
- Enhanced visibility for laptop users with Advanced Optimus, displaying full application names rather than just .exe files.
- A new “Debug Mode” feature that disables overclocking and voltage tweaks to troubleshoot system instabilities.
- Developer options for advanced users, which can be left unchanged by most users.
New Game Releases with DLSS 4.5 Support
Along with the rollout of DLSS 4.5, two new RTX titles that utilize this technology were announced:
- LET IT DIE: INFERNO: This rogue-lite survival action game will include DLSS Super Resolution to boost performance for GeForce RTX gamers.
- StarRupture: An Early Access base-building game that launched last week, featuring day-one support for DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS Frame Generation.
These new titles demonstrate the capabilities of DLSS 4.5 in enhancing graphical fidelity and performance. Users can take advantage of the updated NVIDIA App to unlock the full potential of these features.
Future Updates
NVIDIA has confirmed that an upcoming update in Spring will include support for MFG 6x mode, further enriching the gaming experience for users. Stay tuned for these exciting enhancements.
