The Florida State University (FSU) Seminoles are actively working to enhance their football roster. The focus remains on both transfer portal players and high school talents. One significant name emerging in their recruiting efforts is Jaylen Scott, a promising four-star safety from Mobile, Alabama.
Official Visit to FSU by Jaylen Scott
Jaylen Scott has scheduled an official visit to FSU on January 31, 2025. This visit follows a tumultuous recruitment journey for the player. Scott initially committed to the Seminoles on January 18, 2025, during an unofficial visit. However, he decommitted in June to join the Auburn Tigers.
Scott’s commitment to Auburn was short-lived, as he backed out in December after the Tigers parted ways with head coach Hugh Freeze. Throughout this time, FSU maintained their interest in Scott. He previously visited the campus on September 20, where he attended a game against the Kent State Golden Flashes.
Scott’s Recruitment and Performance
Jaylen Scott is highly regarded, currently ranked as the No. 154 overall player and No. 16 safety in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also recognized as the No. 5 player from Alabama. In his recent junior season, Scott showcased his skills by recording:
- 104 tackles
- 2.0 tackles for loss
- Five interceptions
- Six blocked kicks
This performance came across 12 games, highlighting his capabilities on the field.
FSU’s Current Recruiting Class
Currently, FSU has four commitments in its 2027 recruiting class, which includes two safeties: Mekhi Williams and Jemari Foreman. The addition of Scott would further bolster their defensive lineup.
