Hytale Early Access Launches Today

After a tumultuous journey, Hytale is officially launching in early access today. This eagerly awaited game, developed by Hypixel, has endured significant challenges, including its cancellation by Riot Games just six months ago. The co-founder of Hypixel, Simon Collins-Laflamme, played a critical role in revitalizing the project in November 2025.

Hytale Early Access Details

Players can expect to dive into Hytale starting today, January 13, at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. The early access version will initially launch exclusively for PC, with a promise of future support for Mac and Linux.

Accessing Hytale

It’s essential to note that Hytale will not be available on Steam. Players must download the Hytale Launcher to access the game. Additionally, there are three versions of Hytale available for purchase:

Hytale Standard Edition – $24: Includes the Voyager, Savanna, and Forest Guardian cosmetic sets, featuring the Forest Guardian Cape.
Hytale Supporter Edition – $42: Offers all Standard Edition items plus the Featherbound, Scavenger, and Arctic Scout sets, along with the Knight Cape and Explorer Goggles.
Hytale Cursebreaker Founder’s Edition – $84: This edition comprises everything from the previous two editions plus four extra cosmetic sets: Hope of Gaia, Void Hero, Pop Star, and Voidbearer, along with two exclusive capes: Royal Emissary and New Beginning.

Future Development and Community Involvement

Collins-Laflamme has expressed his intent to keep the pricing accessible while personally investing in the game’s future. He mentioned, “I’m pricing Hytale as aggressively low as possible.” His commitment has also helped secure the necessary funding for the next two years of development.

Despite the excitement, he urged players to manage their expectations, as the game is still in an unfinished state with several bugs to address. Moreover, mod creators have been given early access to the game to prepare for the launch, and their work will be available soon on Curseforge.

As Hytale embarks on this new chapter, the community remains optimistic about the potential for stabilizing and enhancing the gameplay experience. With a passionate team of 50 developers, the future looks promising for Hytale.
