Portland Welcomes New Spring Music Festival
Portland is set to host a fresh addition to its cultural landscape with the introduction of the All Roads Music Festival this spring. Scheduled for May 15 and 16, this vibrant music event will feature over three dozen acts representing both national and local talents.
Overview of the All Roads Music Festival
Previously held in Belfast for ten years, the festival is expanding to Portland, showcasing a diverse array of indie bands. Some of the prominent names scheduled to perform include:
- The Beaches
- Monrovia
- Momma
- Bahamas
- Touching Ice
- Lily Fitts
Additionally, Maine’s own artists will grace the stage, including:
- Genevieve Stokes
- Louisa Stancioff
- Angelikah Fahray
- Ada Bonnevie
- Becca Biggs
- Oshima Brothers
Venues and Schedule
The festival will take place across various iconic venues in Portland, including:
- State Theatre (1,900 seats)
- One Longfellow Square
- Oxbow Blending & Bottling
- Space Gallery
- Geno’s Rock Club
- Blue Portland Maine
- Portland House of Music
- Mechanics’ Hall
- Flask Lounge
Festival co-founder Meg Shorette emphasizes that the Belfast festival will also continue in a new time slot, moving to October 16 and 17. This timing aims to invigorate the entertainment scene during a slower season.
The Creative Pulse of Portland
Shorette noted that the expansion was inspired by a renewed energy in Maine’s music community. Many Portland venues expressed enthusiasm for a spring festival that could drive foot traffic during a historically quieter period.
Bonnevie, a local artist, remarked on the necessity of such a festival in Portland. She highlighted that there hasn’t been a major music festival focused on local talent since the Waking Windows festival over a decade ago. The Back Cove Music and Arts Festival, which debuted last August, prioritized national artists rather than local performers.
Festival Experience and Ticketing
Attendees can expect a robust lineup featuring established and emerging artists sharing the stage. This blend of talent promises to create a unique atmosphere in Portland.
Tickets providing access to all performances across participating venues are currently available for approximately $150. The complete schedule, including performance times and details, is anticipated to be released by the end of January.
The All Roads Music Festival aspires to fill a critical gap in Portland’s music scene, offering both artists and fans an exciting venue for connection and celebration this spring.
