The Strokes Announce First Detroit Headlining Concert in 20 Years
Filmogaz.com reports that The Strokes will play Pine Knob Music Theatre on June 15. The performance marks the band’s first metro Detroit headlining date in 20 years.

The June 15 date opens the group’s busy summer amphitheater and arena tour. The last Detroit headlining show by the band was at the State Theatre in 2006.

Thundercat and Hamilton Leithauser will open the Pine Knob concert. The Detroit stop comes three days after the band’s top-bill slot at Tennessee’s Bonnaroo festival.

A presale begins Wednesday, April 15. General tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 17 via Ticketmaster.

The Strokes are touring in support of their seventh album, Reality Awaits. The Rick Rubin-produced record is due June 26.
