OpenText and S3NS Partner with Google Cloud for European Sovereign Solutions
OpenText announced a strategic collaboration on April 13, 2026. The deal pairs the company with S3NS, an alliance between Thales and Google Cloud. The effort aims to deliver a trusted cloud platform governed in France.
S3NS is a French company fully owned by Thales. It was formed to provide cloud services that meet ANSSI SecNumCloud standards. The announcement positions the S3NS Partner with Google Cloud for European Sovereign Solutions as a core element of the offer.
Architecture and approach
The partners will deploy a hybrid trusted cloud architecture based in France. Sensitive workloads remain in a locally governed environment. Non-sensitive workloads can use hyperscaler services for innovation and scale.
The model preserves interoperability with global cloud platforms. This lets organizations access hyperscaler innovations while meeting regional rules. Operational controls and strict data residency are included.
Initial sovereign services
- Dedicated private cloud running OpenText Content Management and Documentum Content Management for highly sensitive data.
- Sovereign SaaS: OpenText Core Archive for SAP Solutions, offered as a multi-tenant service with European data residency.
- Regulatory support for GDPR, SecNum 3.2, and other European data sovereignty requirements.
The solution will use PREMI3NS, S3NS’s SecNumCloud qualified platform. Additional offerings may be evaluated for later inclusion. The design targets industries with strict compliance needs.
Compliance and operational pedigree
OpenText brings experience from government-grade cloud deployments. Its track record includes FedRAMP-authorized, IRAP-assessed, and Protected B-aligned environments. That experience supports delivery of secure, auditable operations in Europe.
The S3NS alliance aims to help public institutions and private firms protect their most sensitive data. The partnership seeks to bridge strict French regulations and cloud innovation.
Sector impact
The arrangement targets regulated sectors handling citizen, patient, or financial information. Those organizations can modernize while keeping control of sensitive data. The hybrid model balances sovereignty and access to cloud scale.
Shannon Bell, OpenText Chief Digital Officer and CIO, said customers want innovation without losing regional control. The partners expect this model to increase confidence in cloud adoption across Europe.
Filmogaz.com will follow updates as the collaboration develops. Additional technical and service details will be released by the companies over time.
