Apple Sells Out of Multiple Mac Mini and Mac Studio Configurations
Apple is facing a significant reduction in availability for several high-end Mac Mini and Mac Studio configurations. This comes amid ongoing supply challenges and speculation regarding an impending M5 refresh.
Current Unavailability of Mac Mini and Mac Studio Models
Many models, including the M4 Mac Mini with 32 GB RAM, are now marked as “currently unavailable” on the Apple Store. Customers are unable to place orders for these configurations.

- M4 Mac Mini with 32 GB RAM
- M3 Ultra Mac Studio with 256 GB RAM
- M4 Max Mac Studio with 128 GB RAM
- M4 Mac Mini with 64 GB RAM
Just last week, the M3 Ultra Mac Studio was reported as backordered until at least August or September. Shipping delays of four to five months were cited for that model.
Shipping Estimates and Future Implications
Despite the limited availability, some models of the Mac Mini and Mac Studio remain purchasable. However, the shipping estimates are discouraging. The M3 Ultra Mac Studio anticipates delays of at least five weeks, while the Mac Mini configurations could take anywhere from one to three months for delivery.
This situation has led to speculation that an M5 update for both the Mac Mini and Mac Studio may be on the horizon. However, it remains unclear whether this is a strategic move by Apple or a consequence of broader supply chain issues affecting the technology industry.
