Confirmed Comedian Line-up for Taskmaster Season 21

Channel 4’s comedy competition returns for its 21st run on Thursday 9 April at 9pm. Episodes will also be available globally via the official Taskmaster YouTube channel.

Cast overview

Five well-known figures will tackle Alex Horne’s inventive challenges. Greg Davies returns in the chair as the Taskmaster judge.

Amy Gledhill

Amy Gledhill began in sketch groups and won the Caroline Aherne Bursary in 2018. She wrote and starred in the CBBC sketch show Big Fat Like.

She plays Leslie in BBC Two’s Alma’s Not Normal. In 2024 she won best comedy show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Armando Iannucci

Armando Iannucci built his career in British radio during the late 1980s. He produced satirical programmes such as On the Hour.

He co-created The Day Today and worked with Steve Coogan on Alan Partridge. He later created The Thick of It and developed the HBO series Veep.

Joanna Page

Joanna Page became widely known for Gavin & Stacey, which ran from 2007 to 2010. She also appeared as Judy in the 2003 film Love Actually.

Her credits include Doctor Who, Doc Martin and Nativity 2. She has presented Shop Well for Less and ITV’s The Pet Show.

Joel Dommett

Joel Dommett started as an actor on shows such as Casualty and Skins. His comedy break came on Russell Howard’s Good News.

He has hosted The Masked Singer since 2020 and the National Television Awards since 2021. He finished runner-up on I’m a Celebrity in 2016.

Kumail Nanjiani

Kumail Nanjiani is known for Silicon Valley, Eternals and The Big Sick. He is an Oscar nominee and a regular on international comedy stages.

He was introduced to the show after meeting former contestant Tim Key. Alex Horne says one scene will enter Taskmaster folklore.

What to expect

The series follows the usual format of absurd tasks and inventive scoring. Alex Horne designs the challenges with Greg Davies judging results.
