Mo Farah Reveals Big Changes for South Africa Series of I’m A Celeb
Olympic legend Mo Farah is set to return to the jungle for the second series of the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Allstars spin-off. He will join 11 other former campmates when the South Africa series begins on Monday, April 6.
Return to the Allstars jungle
Farah previously appeared on the show in 2020. That edition was filmed at a Welsh castle because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He finished sixth in that contest.
The 43-year-old says the experience will feel different this time. He retired from competitive athletics after his track career. He says retirement allows him to be more open on camera.
Trials and fears
One trial still stands out from Farah’s first appearance. In the Fort Locks challenge he was knocked down by fish guts and covered in critters while trying to win food for camp. He remains publicly fearful of snakes and admits the creatures terrify him.
Insiders add that Farah is competitive and wants to win. They say he is excited to face fresh challenges in the sunny South African camps, which bring new problems compared with the castle series.
Legacy and personal story
Farah is among Britain’s most successful distance runners. He won two Olympic gold medals at London 2012 and two more at Rio 2016. He received a knighthood in 2017.
In 2022 he disclosed, in a documentary, that he was brought to the UK illegally at age nine under another child’s name. He met his wife, Tania Nell, at university in West London. They have four children: Rhianna, Hussein Mo, Amani and Aisha Farah.
Broadcast details
The Allstars spin-off will air on ITV1 and STV at 9pm. The series reunites memorable campmates for a South Africa-based run. Filmogaz.com will provide further coverage as the series unfolds.
