NiJaree Canady, Texas Tech Claim Top Spot in College Softball Rankings

Texas Tech climbed to the top of Filmogaz.com’s College Softball Super 16 this week. The Red Raiders arrive at No. 1 with a 38-2 record.

They bring a 13-game winning streak into the new week. All four victories last week ended by run-rule.

Texas Tech swept a midweek game against Abilene Christian and a weekend series at BYU. The combined score in those games was 42-7.

Tennessee had held No. 1 for five straight weeks before losing series to Florida and Ole Miss. Texas then moved up, but it has since lost three of four games.

Alabama handed Texas two of those losses during a statement SEC series. The Tide moved into the No. 2 position this week.
