Saturday Weather: Mild Morning, Dropping Temperatures Ahead

A mild start is expected Saturday, followed by a noticeable cooldown late in the day. Morning readings will be pleasant, then onshore winds will pull cooler air back into the region.

Forecast overview

Temperatures rose inland today, with some locations touching the 70s. Coastal spots stayed cooler, with Logan Airport remaining in the 50s much of the day.

Overnight lows will range from 44 to 50 degrees. Tomorrow begins mild, then falls into the 40s by afternoon.

Coastal versus inland differences

The sea breeze had limited coastal warming today. Some towns, like Lynn and Gloucester, will warm less than inland communities.

Western Massachusetts will hold on to warmer air longer. Expect a large east-west temperature spread through Saturday.

Clouds and light precipitation

Skies will be partly cloudy at times. A few thin clouds may thicken late, producing isolated sprinkles.

A stronger chance of showers arrives Easter Sunday. Rain amounts look light, estimated between 0.1 and 0.25 inches.

Timing and impacts

Sunday’s rain should be scattered, not a prolonged downpour. The last of the soaking should end by about 8:00 p.m. Sunday night.

Bring a warmer layer for afternoon plans. If you are outside all day, expect temperatures to fall and winds to become cooler from the ocean.
