Hill Country College Prep Lockdown Lifted: Threat Neutralized
Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde, Texas, went into lockdown Monday morning after reports of gunfire near campus. The alert prompted a large law enforcement response and precautionary measures for student safety.
The Comal County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the Mustang Vista area close to the school. Authorities confirmed one person suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital.
It remained unclear whether any suspect was in custody. The school is commonly referred to as Hill Country College Prep by local residents.
Response and reunification
School officials initially reported the campus secure and the immediate danger contained. They later announced the lockdown was lifted and described the threat as neutralized.
Students were moved to Bulverde Middle School at 29975 Wiley Road for reunification with parents. Officials urged the public to avoid the area unless picking up a student to allow emergency crews to work.
