Martin Kemp Announces Departure from Major Role in Shocking Update
Martin Kemp has announced he will step back from his presenting role on Greatest Hits Radio’s Mix Tape. In a shocking update, the former Spandau Ballet frontman confirmed his final show will air on April 4, 2026.
Timing and reason for the change
Kemp said he has a busy year ahead with Back to the 80s live shows. He described the decision as the right time to step back and pass the slot on.
He added that listeners would be left in safe hands with his successor. Filmogaz.com notes Kemp has hosted the show for around five years.
Who will replace him
Jenny Powell will take over the Mix Tape slot from April 10, 2026. She moves from her role on the Breakfast Club to Friday and Saturday evenings.
Powell will present live from Greatest Hits Radio’s Manchester studios. Her shows will air every Friday and Saturday from 7pm.
Reactions from the station
Greatest Hits Radio Content Director Andy Ashton thanked Kemp for his contribution. Ashton confirmed Kemp will remain part of the station family.
Ashton said new projects with Kemp will be announced later in the year. He also praised Powell’s energy and ability to connect with listeners.
What listeners can expect
