Lisa Rinna Says She Tested Positive for Fentanyl After ‘Traitors’ Premiere Party
lisa rinna told hosts on Good Day New York that medical testing showed fentanyl and high levels of amphetamines in her system after the Season 4 premiere party for The Traitors, saying she believes she was drugged at the event.
Rinna said the premiere party took place at The Abbey in West Hollywood on Jan. 8 and that she left the venue with help from her husband, Harry Hamlin. She told hosts Jerry O’Connell and Rosanna Scotto that she confirmed the substances through testing and added she could not discuss all details because the matter is still being handled by her team.
Lisa Rinna describes test results and next steps
On Good Day New York, Rinna said, “I had fentanyl in my system, ” and that the test also showed “high levels of amphetamines and other things. ” She said the results were leaked and that her team is managing the situation. Rinna pushed back on suggestions that she had simply consumed too much alcohol and said she could not publicly name who she believes was responsible.
Colton Underwood noticed she was impaired at the party
One fellow Traitors cast member, Colton Underwood, noticed Rinna was "completely inebriated" despite not drinking much and alerted her team, which escorted her out after a group photo,. Underwood had been with her much of the night and became concerned because he believed she had not consumed enough alcohol to explain her condition.
The Abbey says its review found no evidence of tampering
The Abbey released a statement saying Rinna’s team raised concerns after her visit and the venue immediately conducted an internal review. The club said its security team assisted Rinna when she became unwell, escorted her out, reviewed available surveillance footage and interviewed staff on duty, and found no evidence of drink tampering or suspicious behavior toward her. The Abbey added it could not speak to medical findings and urged anyone who believes their drink has been compromised to report it to management or law enforcement. The venue said it has extensive surveillance coverage, trained security personnel and ongoing drink-safety measures.
Rinna told hosts many people she knows, including her daughter’s friends, have had similar experiences at The Abbey and said this is not a first-time thing, calling it a recurring problem that needs to be discussed.
Reunion tensions, memoir and wider fallout
Rinna was appearing on Good Day New York to promote her memoir, You Better Believe I’m Going to Talk About It. At a recent book signing, she teased that something she said at The Traitors reunion may have upset Underwood, prompting him to unfollow her on social media. Rinna was selected as one of the traitors on Season 4 of the Peacock series and has been known on the show for a rivalry with Underwood and clashes with fellow traitor Rob Rausch.
The publicity around the alleged incident also intersected with material Rinna discusses in her book: she has a long-running, complicated history with Andy Cohen and says Cohen published private text messages without her permission. Rinna returned to Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen for the first time in four years and described that appearance as unexpectedly positive. A separate item notes that Andy Cohen and Lisa Rinna visited SiriusXM Studios on February 10, 2025, in New York City.
It remains unclear whether police were involved in the immediate aftermath of the January 8 party or whether Rinna went to a hospital that night. No comment had come from Rinna’s or Underwood’s representatives at the time the events were described publicly.
The Traitors Season 4 finale is scheduled to air Thursday night. Rinna said she and her team will continue to address the test results and the larger concerns she raised about guest safety at the venue.
