Metallica Sphere residency: Get presale tickets to ‘Life Burns Faster’
Metallica has announced an eight-show "Life Burns Faster" residency at Sphere in Las Vegas this October, and metallica sphere presale access for SiriusXM listeners opens March 5 ahead of the public sale on March 6.
Metallica Sphere dates and presale window
The band will perform eight shows at Sphere on Oct. 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31, 2026. SiriusXM listeners can access a special presale beginning Thursday, March 5 at 10 a. m. PT (1 p. m. ET) through Thursday, March 5 at 10 p. m. PT (1 a. m. ET on March 6) using the code SIRIUSXM. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, March 6 at 10 a. m. PT (1 p. m. ET). Two-night No Repeat Weekend packages and single-night tickets also go on sale March 6 at 10 a. m. PT.
What 'No Repeat Weekend' will mean for the run
The residency will continue the "No Repeat Weekend" format Metallica introduced during the 2023 launch of its M72 World Tour: no songs will be repeated on each Thursday and Saturday pairing throughout the run. The eight-show run promises live staples and surprises spanning the band’s catalog, with Thursday–Saturday pairs designed to avoid song repeats across each weekend.
How Sphere’s technology will shape the shows
Promoters say Sphere’s immersive technologies will enhance the concerts. The venue’s world’s highest resolution LED display will wrap up, over and around the audience; Sphere Immersive Sound will deliver audio to every guest; and multi-sensory 4D technology will add additional elements. The production is pitched as a unique experience for attendees and for the performers James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo.
SiriusXM presales, programming and additional ticket information
SiriusXM listeners get the presale window and can use code SIRIUSXM to access tickets. A new monthly SiriusXM call-in show, "Tallica Talk, " hosted by Spider Dan and Steffan Chirazi, will feature exclusive programming about the announcement; the premiere will focus on the Sphere residency on Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 4–5 p. m. Production partners, context and band activity ahead of the run
Metallica “Life Burns Faster” at Sphere is produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind. inKind rewards diners with special offers and credit back when they use the app to pay at participating restaurants and provides innovative financing to participating restaurants. The production would coincide with the 40th anniversary of the band’s first gold album, "Master of Puppets. " Earlier coverage in January said October and December were planned and that the deal was signed months ago; the current calendar allows expansion into December should demand merit it.
Background on the band’s plans and recent activity
The band has teased the residency on social media, blasting Metallica’s logo and the song "No Leaf Clover. " The group also made an unbilled, attempted covert appearance at Sphere for the Eagles show on Jan. 30 as a scouting mission. Metallica is the first heavy metal band scheduled to play Sphere; the band was also the first metal band to play Allegiant Stadium in February 2022. The classic lineup closes the M72 world tour on July 5 in London, leaving time to build the Sphere production.
