Pink option joins Nothing Phone (4a) reveal ahead of March launch
Nothing has published an official photo and follow-up video showing the full design of the Nothing Phone (4a), and the company also showed a subdued pink colorway. The pink finish, a new Glyph Bar and a simpler camera layout arrive ahead of a 5 March 2026 unveiling that promises a number of hardware and design changes.
Official image and launch timing from Nothing
The Nothing Phone (4a) was revealed in an official photo posted online, and a tweet on February 23, 2026 read "Built different. Phone (4a). 5 March, 10: 30 GMT. " The picture showcases the phone's translucent effect and the complete exterior design, following Nothing's previous use of transparency as a signature feature.
Pink colorway and hardware tinting
Nothing followed the image with a short video that pairs the pink and white variants side by side. The actual pink is described as subdued: the glass is tinted pink and the resin underneath is tinted pink as well, meaning the color is applied through the hardware rather than as a surface overlay. The video explicitly references Apple's classic pink Mac and likens the effect to Nintendo's translucent game-console colors. Nothing has regularly hinted at color experiments — showing blue and pink elements in addition to black and white — and earlier teases have included yellow dots.
Camera layout, Essential Key and the new Glyph Bar
The Phone (4a) displays a triple camera arrangement and a simpler, pill-shaped camera bump that contrasts with the previous model's more complicated rear design. There is also a button on the left-hand side of the phone that is likely an Essential Key intended to access AI-powered content-capture features. Nothing has replaced the older LED strips with a Glyph Bar made up of nine individual mini LEDs; the company says those LEDs are 40% brighter than the equivalents on the Nothing Phone (3a) and are designed for a "more natural, neutral, bleed-free glow. " Exactly how the Glyph Bar can be customised is unclear in the provided context, though Nothing suggests it will tie into software features for notifications and the video notes how the Glyph Bar can interact with certain Glyph Toys from the Nothing Phone.
How the 4a addresses issues from the Phone 3
Reviewers who critiqued the Nothing Phone 3 singled out the revamped design and the Glyph Matrix as problems. The Phone 3's rear layout initially made it difficult to find reliable cases at launch; several months later Ringke and Spigen both offered a few designs, but there was no first-party case. One reviewer noted that the company seemed to prefer selling apparel such as a hoodie or overalls rather than a phone case. The simplified design and pill-shaped bump on the Phone (4a) reminded that reviewer of a recent Pixel (albeit smaller) or a Galaxy S10, and the expectation is that the cleaner layout should yield at least a handful of easy case options. The Glyph Bar is closer to the look of the older Glyph Interface — a series of lights rather than a Tamagotchi-like display — which should mean case designers won't need to cut holes for a Glyph control; a transparent section or a simple cutout was proposed as an easier solution.
Specs expectations, Carl Pei's aim and a Pro model
The Phone (4a) is expected to run on Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 hardware, offer a 6. 7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and carry a triple camera similar to that on the Nothing Phone (3a). It's expected that the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro will launch at the same time as the standard model. CEO and founder Carl Pei has previously said that the (a) models are traditionally Nothing's biggest seller and that his aim has been to level them up to get closer to a flagship experience.
