Private canteen gig details
Staff at the business in Swansea said it was "absolutely nuts" when the American rapper performed what became a full hour of music in the canteen. The space, where staff had been playing ping pong and pool just 24 hours earlier, was transformed into a nightclub for the event and drew more than 400 guests.
Au Vodka hosts transformed space
The invitation-only event took place at the Au Vodka headquarters canteen in the city. The appearance was originally planned as a DJ set, but the performance turned into "an hour of back to back classics, " amid cheers from the crowd. Au Vodka co-owner Charlie Morgan said the gig was "really last minute but almost every member of their staff was there, " along with friends, family and local influencers.
Jackson Quinn reaction and quotes
Au Vodka co-owner Jackson Quinn said: "We will all remember this until we are looking back on this in our 80s saying 'I can't believe Snoop played in our office'. " Quinn also described the situation as "absolutely nuts" and added: "It's amazing for putting Swansea on the map. That's something we actively aim to do all the time. He's a global name and maybe one of the most famous people in the world. " He told Radio Wales Drive: "We couldn't ask for anything better. "
How the appearance came about
The appearance came about through the pair's business partner and DJ, Charlie Sloth, who they said has access to "the hip hop rap world. " Morgan and Sloth said they would both be attending the game that night and were "hopeful for a win. "
Guests, match and matchday programme
Among the guests at the event were Welsh boxer Joe Cordina and former Swans striker Lee Trundle. Snoop Dogg was in the stands for Swansea City's match with Preston North End and the match finished as a 1-1 draw. Snoop Dogg had asked fans to serenade him by twirling towels on his first visit to the club.
Snoop Dogg is also the cover star of the club's latest digital matchday programme ahead of what was described as his first Swansea City game on Tuesday night. The programme includes an interview with Lawrence Vigouroux as he reflects on Swansea's upturn in form under Vitor Matos, plus the latest news from the Swansea City AFC Foundation and the views of chief executive Tom Gorringe and head coach Matos. There is also a guide to that evening's visitors as Paul Heckingbottom brings North End to SA1.
