Snoop Dogg played private canteen gig in Swansea before guard-of-honour welcome
snoop dogg performed an invitation-only, hour-long set of "back to back classics" in the canteen at the Au Vodka headquarters in Swansea before attending his first Swansea City home game, a night that included a towel-twirling salute and a guard of honour on the pitch.
Snoop Dogg transformed an office canteen into a nightclub
Staff at Au Vodka said the appearance was "absolutely nuts" after the canteen — where employees had been playing ping pong and pool just 24 hours earlier — was converted into a nightclub for the event at the company headquarters in Swansea, with more than 400 guests in attendance and the performance turning into an hour of back-to-back classics.
Au Vodka co-owner Jackson Quinn said, "We will all remember this until we are looking back on this in our 80s saying 'I can't believe Snoop played in our office'. " Quinn told Radio Wales Drive that the global star had originally been scheduled for a DJ set but expanded his appearance amid cheers from the crowd.
How the invite-only event came together
The meeting was organised through Au Vodka's business partner and DJ Charlie Sloth, who has access to "the hip hop rap world. " Co-owner Charlie Morgan described the gig as "really last minute, " adding that almost every staff member attended alongside friends, family and local influencers; among the guests were Welsh boxer Joe Cordina and former Swans striker Lee Trundle.
Morgan and Sloth said they would be attending the game that evening and were "hopeful for a win, " while Quinn added that Snoop Dogg's presence was "amazing for putting Swansea on the map, " calling him "a global name and maybe one of the most famous people in the world. "
Snoop Dogg greeted with twirling towels and a guard of honour
The rapper, who joined the Swansea ownership group last July as a minority owner alongside Martha Stewart and Luka Modric, made his first appearance at the Swansea. com Stadium for the Tuesday clash with Preston, arriving nearly three hours before the 7: 45 p. m. ET kick-off and asking fans to twirl complimentary towels on his first visit to the club.
He took to the field through a guard of honour formed by 20 youngsters representing Wales at the 2026 Street Child World Cup in North America. Dressed in the club's all-white colours with a Swansea crest on his jacket, dark glasses and a beanie hat, he made a pre-match lap of honour as fans twirled towels with rock music booming in the stadium.
Pre-match scenes, photos and a quick exit before kick-off
Snoop Dogg saluted supporters, shook hands, posed for photographs and hugged the club mascot, Cyril the Swan, before disappearing down the tunnel seven minutes later just ahead of a light show that started prior to kick-off. The visit had generated such excitement that a 21, 000 record crowd was expected for the game.
Known for hits such as "Gin and Juice" and "Drop It Like It's Hot, " Snoop Dogg has had a three-decade music career that has topped the UK charts and earned 16 Grammy nominations. He also served as Team USA's honorary coach at the Winter Olympics and worked as a special correspondent for NBC earlier this year.
