In 2025, Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) achieved a milestone by transporting over 14 million passengers nationwide. This marked a significant 7.1% increase compared to the previous year, with the railway operating over 45,000 trips.
Impact of Hajj on Passenger Numbers
A noteworthy aspect of this record was the influx of nearly 2 million pilgrims. These travelers utilized the Haramain High-Speed Railway to journey between the Holy Cities of Makkah and Madinah during the Hajj season.
