Norse Atlantic Reports Record Surge in Unit Revenue Growth

Norse Atlantic Airways has reported impressive growth in its unit revenue and passenger traffic for January 2026. The airline achieved a unit revenue of 6.0 US cents per available seat kilometre, reflecting a substantial 21% rise compared to January 2025. This increase is indicative of strong demand and higher average ticket prices.

Norse Atlantic’s Record Surge in Passenger Numbers

Passenger numbers surged by 36%, reaching 151,000 across its network and ACMI/Charter operations. The load factor also improved, hitting 99%, which is an increase of 5 percentage points from the previous year. These metrics showcase the airline’s growing popularity and operational efficiency.

CEO’s Remarks on Growth and Business Strategy

Eivind Roald, CEO of Norse Atlantic, expressed satisfaction with these results. He stated that 2026 has begun positively for the airline, characterized by significant improvements across nearly all operational metrics. Roald emphasized the transition towards a balanced business model, which includes six aircraft in its scheduled network and six on long-term charters. This strategy helps ensure stable earnings while minimizing exposure to fluctuating fuel prices.

Flight Operations and Challenges

In January alone, Norse Atlantic operated 236 flights in its scheduled network and an additional 263 ACMI/charter flights. However, the airline encountered challenges concerning on-time performance, with only 36% of departures occurring within 15 minutes of their scheduled times. Contributing factors included air traffic control delays, airport congestion, and adverse weather conditions.

  • Despite these delays, Norse Atlantic managed to complete 94% of its scheduled flights.
  • The airline operates a fleet of 12 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

Looking ahead, Norse Atlantic Airways remains committed to enhancing on-time performance and improving communication with customers as it builds on the strategic initiatives introduced in 2025. This focus will be crucial as the airline strives to maintain its growth trajectory in a competitive aviation market.
