The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced a major arrest linked to the largest narcotics seizure at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon border crossing. The arrest of Satnam Singh highlights ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
Significant Drug Seizure at the Border
On November 22, 2025, during an inspection of Singh’s commercial vehicle returning to Canada from the United States, officers uncovered a staggering 314 kg of methamphetamine. This was concealed within 12 boxes found in the truck and trailer, marking a record seizure for the Abbotsford-Huntingdon crossing.
Charges Filed Against the Accused
Singh faces serious charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. These include:

As a foreign national, Singh’s legal challenges may lead to deportation or a permanent ban from Canada, depending on the outcomes of the charges.
Collaborative Efforts Against Drug Trafficking
The successful seizure was made possible through the collaboration of the CBSA and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). According to Nina Patel, regional director general of CBSA Pacific Region, this operation reflects their commitment to disrupting criminal networks. Stephen Lee, acting regional commander for RCMP Federal Policing in the Pacific Region, praised the thorough investigation that led to this significant interception.
