During the emergency landing, the plane overshot the runway, veering off and landing on the beach adjacent to the Indian Ocean. All 50 passengers and five crew members aboard the Fokker 50 were safely evacuated.

The rescue teams accounted for everyone on board swiftly. Mohamed Farah Nuh, Somalia’s transportation minister, confirmed the successful evacuation, emphasizing that there were no fatalities or injuries. The aircraft did sustain damage, with reports indicating at least one wing was broken.
