Remedy’s 2025 Revenues Surge to €59.5 Million
Remedy Entertainment has made headlines with its financial results for the fiscal year 2025. The company reported a substantial increase in revenue, primarily driven by the success of its titles such as Alan Wake 2 and Control.
2025 Financial Overview
In Q4 2025, Remedy recorded remarkable figures:
- Revenue: €17 million (up 46.3% year-over-year)
- Operating Profit: €0.7 million (compared to a loss of €1.4 million in Q4 2024)
For the entire fiscal year 2025, the key results were:
- Total Revenue: €59.5 million (an increase of 17% from the previous year)
- Operating Loss: €14.9 million (up from €4.3 million in 2024)
Revenue Drivers
Remedy attributed its revenue spike significantly to the rising sales and royalties from its popular titles. In Q4, nearly half of the overall revenue came from these sources. Here are the main contributors:
- Royalties from Alan Wake 2
- Sales from Control
The 2019 title Control sold an additional one million copies in 2025. This boost was spurred by the announcement of the sequel, Control: Resonant, revealed at The Game Awards in December. Interim CEO Markus Mäki highlighted the positive early reception of Resonant, noting strong community support and favorable wishlist trends.
Alan Wake 2 Contributions
Remedy emphasized that Alan Wake 2‘s presence on PlayStation Plus in October generated significant royalties during the fourth quarter. For the fiscal year, the survival horror title continued to provide steady royalty income, along with consistent sales from other games in the Alan Wake series.
Leadership Changes
Recent changes in management have also marked a new era for Remedy. After Tera Virtala left the CEO position in October 2025, Markus Mäki was appointed as interim CEO. Following this transition, Remedy announced Jean-Charles Gaudechon, a former VP at Electronic Arts, as the new CEO, effective March 1, 2026.
Challenges with FBC: Firebreak
Despite the successes, Remedy faced challenges, particularly with the launch of its multiplayer title, FBC: Firebreak. Released in June 2025, the co-op game did not meet expectations, prompting a profit warning due to weak sales. This ultimately led to a non-cash impairment of €14.9 million, mainly associated with Firebreak’s development costs.
In summary, while Remedy Entertainment experienced a significant revenue surge in 2025, it also faced challenges that affected its overall financial performance. As the company prepares for new leadership and upcoming titles, the future remains optimistic.
