Indie Icons Set for Exclusive Manchester Show at BBC Radio 6 Festival
Indie icons are set to take the stage at the upcoming BBC Radio 6 Music Festival in Greater Manchester. Scheduled from March 25 to March 28, 2024, the festival promises an eclectic mix of live performances across iconic grassroots venues in the area.
Festival Highlights
This year’s festival will feature a diverse lineup, including established acts and emerging talents. Here’s a glimpse of the key events:
- March 25: BBC Introducing show with performances by TTSSFU, Pyncher, and Ellen Beth Adbi at Band on the Wall, starting at 7 PM.
- March 26: DJ set by Kelly Lee Owens at Band on the Wall, alongside Wesley Joseph. Additional performances by Mandy, Indiana, and SILVERWINGKILLER at YES at 7 PM.
- March 27: Bloc Party will headline at Band on the Wall with support from The Horrors. That night also includes the Indie Forever club night featuring notable artists like Beth Ditto, Nick Grimshaw, and Emily Pilbeam at YES from midnight.
- March 28: Courtney Barnett is set to perform at Band on the Wall. Lynks will also grace the stage at YES alongside Tiberius b. A daytime event at Eccles Town Hall Ballroom will showcase Lauren Auder, Naima Bock, and R.AGGS.

Tickets for individual events will be available starting February 12 at 10 AM. Fans can look forward to more than just live music; the festival will also host a new podcast series titled “The Rise and Fall of Madchester,” exploring the city’s iconic music movement of the 80s and 90s. Performances and DJ sets will be available on BBC Sounds for 30 days post-broadcast, along with highlights on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Music YouTube channel.
