Medcem and Europort Cement Strategic Partnership in Antwerp
Euroports has forged a strategic long-term partnership with Medcem Cement Group, the foremost cement producer and exporter from Turkey. This collaboration will take place at the TA168 Fertilisers and Minerals Terminal in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. The primary goal is to broaden Euroports’ involvement in industrial minerals, reinforcing Antwerp’s status as a crucial European logistics hub for essential commodities.
Overview of Medcem Cement Group
Medcem operates one of the largest cement production facilities worldwide. Remarkably, it exports about 90% of its output to more than 20 countries. As Turkey’s leading cement exporter, Medcem is instrumental in the international cement market.
Initial Shipment and Operational Overview
The partnership kicked off with the arrival of its first Medcem shipment in December 2025, which included 20,000 tons of CEM I 52.5 N cement. This inaugural delivery showcased the terminal’s ability to manage large-scale cement operations, setting the foundation for increased shipping activities in the future.
Comprehensive Supply Chain Management
Euroports is providing a full-end supply chain solution within this partnership. Key operational aspects include:
- Vessel unloading using a modern pneumatic-discharging system
- Storage in a closed-circuit warehouse

A specialized pneumatic system has been developed to maintain strict dust control, aligning with the environmental standards of the Antwerp-Bruges area.

- Storage capacity of 400,000 tons
