Purpose of the Event

The Livingston County Transportation Coalition emphasizes that this discussion is not about mandates, but about listening and sharing experiences. They seek community input to guide responsible and effective solutions for public transportation.

Mark Hymes, Chair of the Rosa Parks Transit Equity Day Committee, highlighted the county’s growing demand for public transportation. Hymes acknowledged LETS’s efforts but noted that more services and extended hours could be offered with adequate funding.

Local Transportation Services

Several services enhance mobility in the area, including:

  • People’s Express from Whitmore Lake
  • Western-Washtenaw Area Value Express (WAVE)
  • Michigan Flyer, now with a stop at the Whitmore Lake park-n-ride

The Coalition is also updating the 2019 Livingston County Transit Master Plan. They are working to include measures for expanding public transportation in this plan.

Get Involved

The Livingston County Transportation Coalition warmly invites anyone interested in public transportation, local workforce development, or community mobility to participate. While registration is preferred for the event, all voices are welcome to contribute to this important discussion.
