Final Fantasy VII Original Releases Enhanced Edition

Final Fantasy VII Original Releases Enhanced Edition

Square Enix has announced an enhanced version of the beloved game, FINAL FANTASY VII. Owners of the current edition will receive the new release for free. The existing version, set to be renamed FINAL FANTASY VII – 2013 Edition, will no longer be available for purchase after the launch of the new edition, although specific details about the release date remain undisclosed.

Details of the Enhanced Edition

The announcement was made via a post on Steam, explaining the upcoming changes for the FINAL FANTASY VII community. The existing game will be retired following the launch of the new version.

Access for Existing Owners

  • Current owners will have complimentary access to the new version.
  • Both editions will remain in the owner’s Steam library after the update.

Save Data Compatibility

Players should note that save data will not transfer between the two versions. Saves from FINAL FANTASY VII – 2013 Edition will only be compatible with that particular edition.

Availability and Promotions

The 2013 edition will be removed from the Steam Store once the new version launches. For those interested in acquiring the current version, it is currently offered at a 60% discount and is valid until February 4th.

Additionally, other titles from the FINAL FANTASY franchise have been released on GOG, raising the possibility of the new edition appearing on that platform in the future.
