The recent Headwinds update for Arc Raiders introduced seven new quests, with “A Prime Specimen” standing out as particularly challenging. Players face technical issues that complicate quest completion, necessitating a clear understanding of the tasks involved.
Quest Overview: A Prime Specimen
In the “A Prime Specimen” quest, players must collect two Arc Powercells. These components are essential for crafting shield charges and can often be found by interacting with Arc machines. Players are recommended to have a stock of these before beginning their raid.
Finding the Arc Deforester
Once equipped with the Arc Powercells, the next step is to locate an Arc Deforester within the Blue Gate map. There are three Deforesters situated across two main areas:
- Adorned Wreckage (West)
- Barren Clearing (West)
- Near Ridgeline (East)
To successfully complete the quest, players need to interact with one of these Deforesters. The basic steps include:
- Enter the main chamber of the Arc Deforester and access the exposed circuit panel on the left, using an Arc Powercell.
- Wait for the flames to extinguish and interact with the circuit at the end of the chamber, consuming a second Arc Powercell.
- Exit and ascend to the higher platform of the Deforester, where you can search the back of the wreckage.
Troubleshooting Quest Issues
Currently, many players are experiencing difficulties with the quest due to a bug that prevents interactions with the Arc Deforester. If you encounter this problem, consider trying one of the other two Deforester locations to complete the quest. Alternatively, you may need to exit the session and try again later.
