LPU Students Join R-Day Celebrations in New Delhi
Three students from Lovely Professional University (LPU) have been selected to participate in the 77th Republic Day celebrations scheduled for January 26 in New Delhi. This year’s parade will honor 150 years of “Vande Mataram,” a tribute to India’s enduring spirit of patriotism.
LPU Students Representing at Republic Day
The chosen cadets from LPU are:
- Amod Kumar
- Saksham Sharma
- Shubhang Jaiman
The Republic Day events will be attended by prominent leaders, including:
- Droupadi Murmu, President of India
- Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India
- Antonio Costa, President of the European Council
- Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission
Selection Process
The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, conducted a competitive selection process. This process involved evaluating candidates from lakhs of student volunteers across five different regions of India.
Cultural Representation
In addition to the three cadets, LPU will have another representative at the celebrations. Pankaj Verma, a second-year BA student, has been selected to perform in the large-scale cultural event at Kartavya Path. He will be one of over 2,500 cultural artists showcasing their talents. Pankaj will represent Punjab by performing bhangra, reflecting the region’s vibrant heritage.
This participation not only highlights the achievements of individual students but also underscores LPU’s commitment to fostering national pride and cultural representation in significant national events.
