Designer Perfumes Recalled for Harmful Fertility Chemical
Two popular designer perfumes have been recalled due to the presence of a harmful chemical ingredient. The fragrances in question are “Hello” by Lionel Richie and “Hot” by United Colours of Benetton. These products were available at Savers Health and Beauty stores. The recall was announced by the Office for Product Safety and Standards.
Reason for Recall: Harmful Fertility Chemical
The recalled perfumes contain butylphenyl methylpropional (BMHCA), a synthetic floral fragrance also known as lilial. This chemical poses serious risks to reproductive health. It has been classified as toxic and may affect an unborn child, leading to health concerns related to the reproductive system. Additionally, it can cause skin sensitization.
