Sadie King’s Shocking Emmerdale Comeback Rumored After 20 Years

A high-profile return is rumored for Emmerdale this week. Patsy Kensit may reprise the role of Sadie King after a 20 years absence.

A source told The Sun that the casting was kept top secret. Producers reportedly want the return to shock viewers and generate headlines.

Kensit originally played Sadie from 2004 to 2006. Her character arrived as Jimmy King’s former wife, played by Nick Miles.

Sadie had an affair with Robert Sugden. She later allied with Cain Dingle in plans against Tom King, who was engaged to Charity Dingle.

Her exit followed the King River Show Home explosion. The blast killed three people, including Dawn, the daughter of Bob Hope.

Reports say Sadie paid Cain to sabotage the show home. The pair plotted to kidnap Tom, but Cain double-crossed Sadie and fled with the ransom.

If Sadie returns, tensions with former lovers will resurface. Jimmy is now married to Nicola.

Cain is married to Moira. The pair face major troubles in 2026.

Cain has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Moira is in prison accused of murdering Celia and Anya.

Producers allege Moira was framed by Joe Tate and accused of running a human trafficking operation.

Scriptwriters reportedly want divisive characters and explosive plots. A Sadie King comeback would fit that brief.

After leaving Emmerdale, Kensit appeared in Holby City. She also featured in EastEnders in 2023 as Emma Harding.

In 2019 she told Digital Spy she enjoyed playing the outspoken Sadie. She suggested the door remained open for a return, saying, “Never say never.”
