New Direct Flight Routes from Toronto Launching in 2026

Toronto’s Pearson International Airport and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport are set to welcome new flight routes beginning in 2026. Major airlines, including Air Canada, Flair Airlines, and WestJet, are expanding their offerings to various international destinations.

Flair Airlines Expands to the Caribbean

Flair Airlines is enhancing its connectivity to the Caribbean with a new non-stop route to Montego Bay, Jamaica. This service commenced in December 2025, departing from Pearson Airport almost daily. Additionally, Flair initiated flights to Mexico City in October 2025, providing services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Air Canada Enhancements and New Destinations

Air Canada is introducing numerous changes in 2026, particularly in South America. The airline is set to extend its services to Brazil, Peru, and Chile, with earlier flights and increased frequency to Rio de Janeiro and Lima.

  • New Destination: Quito, Ecuador – Weekly flights starting December 6, 2026
  • Year-Round Service: Copenhagen and Manchester

To support these routes, Air Canada has acquired the Airbus A321XLR. This modern aircraft features lie-flat seating and will operate flights from Pearson Airport starting October 26. The schedule includes:

  • Manchester: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays
  • Copenhagen: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Air Canada is also expanding its U.S. services from Billy Bishop Airport. Daily routes to New York, Boston, Washington, and Chicago are anticipated. Notably, flights to New York’s LaGuardia begin March 29, followed by Boston Logan on July 1, and flights to Chicago O’Hare and Washington Dulles debut on June 1.

Air Transat New Routes in 2026

Air Transat will introduce direct flights from Pearson Airport to diverse destinations, including:

  • Tirana, Albania
  • Accra, Ghana
  • Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
  • Georgetown, Guyana
  • Istanbul, Turkey

Flights to Rio have already begun, while others will start in June and December 2026. Additionally, routes to Berlin and Lima will increase to three flights per week.

Porter Airlines Expands Offerings

Porter Airlines will introduce new services at Pearson Airport and one route from Billy Bishop Airport. Passengers can look forward to flights to Nashville, Tennessee, starting May 11. Porter’s new routes include flights to Boston and Quebec City, launching on May 14 and May 12, respectively. Recently, in December 2025, Porter initiated flights to Liberia, Costa Rica, and Grand Cayman.

WestJet’s New Seasonal Flights

This summer, WestJet is introducing seasonal routes to Cardiff, Wales, and Glasgow, Scotland, beginning on May 22 and May 15, respectively. The airline is also seeking government approval for flights to Medellín, Colombia, starting April 28, and Ponta Delgada in Portugal, launching June 12. Additionally, WestJet will offer weekly flights to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, throughout the summer in collaboration with Sunwing. Flights to Havana, Cuba, and Samaná, Dominican Republic, started in December 2025.
